I've been a Star Wars fan since the first movie in the franchise came out in 1977. If you recall, a central theme in the films was a universal energy called "the Force."
According to the official Star Wars databank, "The Force is a mysterious energy field created by life that binds the galaxy together. Harnessing the power of the Force gives those sensitive to this spiritual energy extraordinary abilities, such as levitating objects, tricking minds, and seeing things before they happen." Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda (the good guys) were Jedi masters and were able to use the Force to their advantage for good. However, the Force could also be accessed by the bad guys, like Darth Vader, who used it for evil purposes.
Below is a clip from Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope that demonstrates how Obi-Wan Kenobi used the Force to trick the mind of a stormtrooper who was on the lookout for them.
So what does all this have to do with our situation today?
The thought hit me this week that the Biden administration and the progressive left, along with the mainstream media, are trying to use "the Force" for mind tricks on all of us. They apparently believe that, if they say something, and say it often enough, we'll believe it--even if what they're saying is totally false. Just like Obi-wan Kenobi in the clip above, they think that a wave of their hand will convince us that, "There's nothing to see here....move along...these aren't the droids you're looking for."
Here are some examples of what I mean about the regime using mind tricks to try and make you believe things you know are not true...
"The border is secure."
Here is VP Kamala Harris, our designated border czar, telling us that it is so:
She's saying this despite the fact that 2 MILLION illegal immigrants have crossed the border since this time last year. A total of 5 MILLION illegals have crossed the border since Biden took office. In typical fashion, she went on to blame the surge on the Trump administration.
"Women can be men. Men can be pregnant. The genital mutilation and chemical castration of children is normal."
If you're like me, I am so tired of this attempted mind trick.
To quote George Orwell, “We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men."
Restating the obvious, regardless of anyone's opinion...there are only TWO genders. Male and female. PERIOD. Basic biology dictates you are born with a set of chromosomes that is either XX or XY. That is what dictates one's gender and it's determined long before the development of the fetus begins. As Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire says, "I'm not going to modify basic biology because it threatens your subjunctive sense of what you think you are."
This past week, Biden sat down with transgender activist, Dylan Mulvaney, for a one-on-one interview to discuss trans issues. Mulvaney opened the interview by saying, “Mr. President, this is my 221st day of publicly transitioning,” to which Biden’s response was, “God love you.” In the interview, Biden condemned states that have passed bills outlawing “gender-affirming” treatments for minors as being “immoral.”
It's one thing for adults to choose to undergo these processes for themselves. But this administration believes in, and defends, the medicalization and mutilation of children. There's no other way to say it.
This is a shameful insult to women. And the parody site, Babylon Bee, maybe said it best when they published a piece entitled, "Man Pretending To Be Woman Visits Man Pretending To Be President."
It's all normal, they claim. Nothing to see here.
"Inflation doesn't exist."
We've already discussed in previous blogs the Congressional Democrats passing the questionably named "Inflation Reduction Act." Claiming that it reduces inflation is a mind trick to hide the fact that the legislation is nothing more than a tax-and-spend bill full of green energy goodies.
But the mind trick didn't even work on one of their own. Former Democrat US senator and comedian Al Franken admitted that his party's response to inflation has him "a little stressed."
But don't worry, Al. Nancy Pelosi says inflation is not really inflation. (As she waves her hand, she whispers...) "It's the cost of living."
You heard it. Nancy Pelosi said it herself.
It's not inflation that is causing your grocery, utility and gasoline bills to go up.
Nope.
Just to make sure we don't blame THEM, the White House is using another mind trick on the American public. Haven't you heard? It's not inflation...it's "Putin's Price Hike." But, when a president promises to end fossil fuels on day one of his administration and then proceeds to blame high gas prices on Vladimir Putin, you know they're using the mind trick again.
And to put yet another layer of spin on this mind trick, Stacey Abrams (Democrat activist and current candidate for governor of Georgia) says that we can solve inflation by killing more babies.
"______ is a danger to our democracy." (fill in the blank)
This is another favorite mind trick/scare tactic currently being employed by the Democrats. Everything that is in opposition to the left-wing narrative is breathlessly declared as a danger to our democracy. For example, "January 6 was the day democracy died", or, "If Republicans win, it will be the end of our democracy." , or "Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.", or, "MAGA is a threat to democracy." Pick one...or all of the above.
Watch this short video for a rather frightening look at how the media is nothing more than an echo chamber for the administration's narrative. They use this mind trick of coordinated repetition to "shape the news" for whatever the hot topic of the day is:
"Hunter Biden's laptop is Russian disinformation."
We all know this story has been trickling around since 2019. For the last three years, we've been told there's nothing to see here--that it's all Russian disinformation. Joe Biden claims he wasn't involved in his son Hunter's business dealings in Ukraine and China.
But the mind trick isn't working so well. In an explosive report, the non-profit transparency group Marco Polo sent evidence to all 535 members of Congress, implicating Hunter Biden in over 450 crimes. The report also claims that Joe Biden was complicit in six white collar crimes, including tax evasion, using non-public information for personal gain, and illegally using an alias email. According to Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Chuck Grassley, the FBI is sitting on volumes of information from the infamous laptop. Will anything come of this?
"It's all the Republican's fault."
Mark it down. This is going to be the next mind trick the administration will try to use after the mid-terms. As we approach the November 8th elections, it's appearing more and more likely that the results will be devastating for Democrats. Some are saying it will be a red wave. Others are saying it will be more of a red tsunami.
In any event, be prepared for the Democrats to blame all the problems they caused (when they owned both chambers of Congress AND the White House) on the Republicans.
Biden is already saying it..."Republicans will crash the economy!" In fact, he's saying the same things the Democrats have said before every election. I'm already tired of hearing, "Republicans want to cancel Social Security!"
Don't fall for the mind tricks.
Let's all use our collective "force" to stop the madness. Cast your vote for sanity on November 8th.
