Wait...What?

I am SO confused. And maybe you are, too.

Most days, it feels like we're living in a totally upside-down bizarro world. Left is right. Right is left. Men are women. Women are men. Burning a city to the ground is a "peaceful protest." Science is no longer based on factual data, but a "consensus" of those who agree with the "approved" narrative. Freedom of speech is bad. Censorship is good (and necessary). What was true yesterday, isn't true today. What is good for some, isn't good for others.

Welcome to clown world.

Here are some current news items that are adding to the confusion and making me shake my head:

*******

  • We're constantly being lectured that gender is fluid. Men can menstruate, men can get pregnant, and schools need to put feminine hygiene product dispensers in boys' bathrooms. But, NOW, because of the potential of Roe v. Wade being overturned, women are suddenly women again. Leftist California governor, Gavin Newsome, went off-script when he said, "If men could get pregnant, this wouldn’t even be a conversation. This decision isn’t about strengthening families - it’s about extremism. It’s about control. We will fight for the right to choose." Conservative commentators were quick to point out that Newsom’s claim about men not being able to get pregnant is inconsistent with the current far left narrative on gender and sex, which insists that men (trans-men) can become pregnant. Can they, or can't they? Wait--there's a pregnant man emoji on my iPhone so...? I'm confused.

  • During the pandemic, there was a firestorm over the use of the Nobel Prize-winning drug, Ivermectin. Its use was denounced and banned by the medical elites, even though studies showed it to be highly effective in the treatment of COVID-19. Many medical doctors were suspended for prescribing it. Anyone who posted about it on social media was censored and defamed as using "horse paste" and "horse medicine." Well, in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, the left has now recommended that women who believe they don't have access to abortion can make their own DIY abortion pill using the drug, Misoprostol. This is a veterinary drug used to treat ulcers in, guess what? HORSES! What a turn around. So "horse pills" are banned for COVID-19, but are okay to use to abort a baby? My head is spinning.

  • For the past two years, we've been pummeled by governments, hospitals, educational institutions, and corporations over mask and vaccine mandates. In order to hold down jobs, travel, or go to school, people often had no choice but to inject their bodies with an experimental drug and/or wear masks all day. But now, in the wake of Roe v. Wade being potentially overturned, we have gone from, "Stick that needle in your arm whether you want it not!" back to, "My body, my choice!" So....I'm confused. Which is it?

  • Speaking about the leaked Supreme Court decision, Joe Biden had his own "basket of deplorables" moment when he said, "This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history." Now I'm really confused. Somehow, people who want to make America great again are worse than the KKK, Antifa, BLM rioters and the Weather Underground? Being a member of a leftist group must make you less "extreme." How do you insult half the country while claiming to be the "great unifier?" I'm confused.

Moving on from the Roe v. Wade free-for-all, here are a few more things that have me puzzled...

  • The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has come out and finally admitted that we should just treat COVID-19 like the flu. I'm confused. What's going to happen now to the thousands of doctors and medical experts who were censored, banned, and suspended for saying the exact same thing over the last two years?

  • Eli Lilly has an experimental obesity drug in clinical trials that show people losing up to 20% of their body weight. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), obesity is ranked as one of the leading causes of death in the world. So, if saving lives is REALLY their objective (as they say), why wouldn't the WHO, the FDA and the CDC MANDATE this experimental drug like they did with the mRNA vaccines? I'm confused...

  • All last year, the Biden administration classified parents who protested at school board meetings as "domestic terrorists," and told us that they were a "threat to democracy." But now, that same administration is encouraging leftist activists to protest outside the private homes of conservative Supreme Court justices. It is against federal law to threaten or intimidate judges and officers of the court. It sure seems to me that swarms of protestors with bullhorns in front of your house shouting expletives is threatening and intimidating. As the head of the Executive Branch of the government, isn't Joe Biden effectively the country's chief law enforcement officer? Why is protesting and intimidating Supreme Court justices okay, but standing up for children at school board meetings criminal? I'm confused.

  • On May 10, 2022, the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that the Milwaukee Bucks will be playing two pre-season games in the city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). But the UAE isn't exactly "woke" when it comes to the treatment of LGBTQ people--homosexuality is punishable by flogging, torture, and death. This is the same NBA that pulled its all-star game out of Charlotte NC in 2017, because North Carolina legislators passed what became known as the "bathroom bill." This bill said that, in public buildings, transgenders must use the bathroom that corresponds with the gender listed on their birth certificate. So it's okay for the NBA to bring revenue to a foreign country that kills and tortures LGBTQ people, but to deny revenue to a U.S. state that simply says people should stick to using the bathroom of their biological gender? I'm confused....

  • We sit here in the midst of record inflation, historically high gas prices, a wide-open border, food shortages (including baby formula!), supply chain problems, a nuclear-armed Iran--and Congress is now looking to send another $40 BILLION dollars to Ukraine. But, wait! Everything is beautiful, at least according to the New York Times. On May 10, 2022, it published an article that claims that THESE are the good old days and our "prospects haven’t been this bright since men landed on the moon." Wait....what? Should we be celebrating? I'm confused....
